Day 10: Supported heart opener
This week has been a whirlwind! It has been a challenge to keep up with my fitness rountine and especially to keep up with these posts! I may have fallen a wee bit behind. Sorry friends! Luckily, I'm back on track and just in time. We are in the final countdown!
We're all home for the holiday now and it is so nice to have time at home to relax with my kids and husband. I enjoyed a relaxing, slow paced morning with no where to be and nothing that had to be done on any kind of schedule. Such a welcome change from crazy school mornings! Today's pose is so relaxing. If you don't have a bolster use a folded blanket, extra rolled yoga mat, firm pillow or yoga blocks. Get creative!
What are you looking forward to having extra time for over the holiday break? Maybe a little more yoga?!
Lie on your back with a prop supporting you from the base of your lower spine to your head. Allow your head and upper body to rest heavy on the prop. Extend the legs, allowing the feet and legs to relax. Bring the arms to the sides of the body. Close the eyes. Hold for up to one minute.
Variations: arms can be brought out wide to the sides or to a cactus position to open the heart and chest more or rest one hand over the heart and one on the belly to connect to the breath.
Hi! I'm Erica, a fitness and healthy food loving wife and mother of three here to inspire you on your wellness journey!
